Chichen Itza is one of the more exotic stops on our western caribbean cruise. We docked outside Merida and took the tour bus inland on the Yucatan to find this great pyramid. We climbed the steps which have NO railings and my vertigo kicked in right away. However the view from the top was spectacular…the feeling incredible. I put it out there with the experience of making it to the top of the 14,439 foot peak of Mt Elbert in Colorado. Amazing that a man made monument such as this pyramid could be as breathtaking as a mountain in Colorado!
We look the part! Wandering the shops in Cozumel and then…a little beach time before heading back to our little boat. Yes, that one in the background.
We took a little excursion upstream in Belize. It is a beautiful place and the Mayan ruins we visited were really interesting and intriguing. The jungle is so rich in color and sound. I wanted to cruise along forever.
We're Montie and David, and we are always looking for an adventure. I am the writer and David the photographer. Because of this division of labor you will see me in more pictures than him, and probably because I am the one making the decisions about what to print and what to write. That being said, I could not do this without his great skill and vision. The photos you see in the section above are samples of some of our adventures which include the random weekend fancy and our many planned excursions all over the world. I hope to be blogging about them all as we go along. See more of David's great photos by following him on Instagram at ravinslavin.
